About Us
Up for Anything?
The answer is always yes. Take the flight. Hit the trail. Squeeze in another run. Rack ‘em. Break ‘em. Run the table. Raise your glass. Slam one down. And do it all again tomorrow. We’re not here for the naysayers, the timid, or the couch potatoes. We’re here for the confident, the curious, and the carefree. So, whether you’re out pounding the pavement or hitting the trail, when you roll with us, you’re up for anything.
Our Story
In 2013, Jake Anderson and Sam Barstow - two college friends, ski bums and outdoor adventure junkies - set out to create versatile, casual footwear that could keep up with the rugged environments they enjoyed most. They wanted shoes that could tackle harsh weather and tough terrain without sacrificing comfort or style. What do you do when you can’t find that shoe on the market? These guys decided to make their own. They named their new company Forsake – For Sam and Jake – but these shoes and boots are made for anyone who lives each day with gusto.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help anyone on a mission to live life to its fullest. We believe that, whether you’re on a city street or an unmarked trail, your footwear should never limit your adventures. Rugged, versatile, and stylish, we create can-do shoes for will-do people.
Sustainability

Making footwear durable enough to handle the toughest assignments and still last from season to season has always been our goal. Simply put, a better boot is a more sustainable boot, because the longer it lasts the less the landfill grows. That’s why we insist on using only the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. We’ve also worked in as many environmentally preferred materials as possible. Across the line, all our laces, webbing, and linings are 100% recycled. We source our leather exclusively from LWG gold-rated tanneries, and we mix bio-based foams into our midsoles and footbeds.

Despite this, we know our boots still have an impact on the environment. That’s why we’ve been committed to achieving certified carbon neutrality every year since 2019. In 2025 we earned The Climate Label certification. This means we actively fund projects to reduce carbon emissions in both our operations and supply chain. We’re proud to be part of this movement to reduce GHG emissions through immediate climate action.
